What is Glaucoma?
Learning objectives will include: what are the different types of glaucoma, what is the underlying pathology and clinical manifestations.

Glaucoma - the scale of the problem

Learning objectives will include: what is the prevalence of the glaucoma, how well is it being detected, are the right patients being referred at the right time? How well are we caring for glaucoma patients and who is accountable for failures in delivery.

Assessment of the glaucoma patient - intraocular pressure, tonometry and pachymetry

Learning objectives will include: essential knowledge, methods and techniques for the accurate measurement of intraocular pressure - including discussion of accuracy and practicality of different methods for tonometry and pachymetry

Assessment of the glaucoma patient - examining and imaging the anterior segment

Learning objectives will include: methods and clinical applications for assessing and imaging the anterior segment, including OCT, Scheimpflug (Pentacam) and Ultrasound

Assessment of the glaucoma patient - optic nerve and retinal nerve fibre layer

Learning objectives will include: different methodologies and clinical applications for imaging and measuring optic disc and RFNL, including HRT, OCT and GDX

Assessment of the glaucoma patient - visual field testing

Learning objectives will include: normal and abnormal visual field, principles of perimetry, visual field test strategies, interpretation of results and sources of error and artefact and how they can be identified
